I posted some stuff in Bacon's system survey thread, but to avoid it getting too off topic, I thought I'd post my question here instead.

Im getting awesome performance out of my rig, but not as awesome as I expected. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any BIOS settings I might need to tweak to boost my performance.

One indication was that in Vista, my Windows Experience Index scores are all maxed out at 5.9 except my ram which is lagging behind at 5.4. Doesnt seem right with 8 gigs of ram.
I was told that one of my problems might be my FSB not being timed correctly with my memory and that it has something to do with the speed and the multiplier and running it unlinked... I see these things in the BIOS, but I just dont know what to change them to to get them running optimally.

Another indication is while Im playing Crysis (64-bit), my performance is crap. Im struggling to get framerates between 25-30 with all my settings on high, a couple on very high, no AA, 1280x1024 resolition, with 2 8800 Ultras, SLI, a quad core, and 64-bit Vista. I also have to drop everything to the lowest settings when they flash freeze the island to get my framerate back to the 25-30 range, otherwise it crawls at around 6-7 fps.
Im not an idiot and I know good visual quality comes with lowered performance, especially on a game like Crysis, but Ive even had a few people tell me they've gotten better performance with lesser systems, so somethings seems to be wrong here.

Right now my RAM is at the default 800mhz
Processor specs: Intel QX6800, 8MB L2 Cache, 2.93 GHz Clock Speed, 1066 MHz FSB
Mobo is ASUS Striker Extreme

Any other specs are in my sig. Let me know if I you need anymore info. Any help would be appreciated.

First off I'd just try updating everything on your pc: video drivers, mobo, cpu drivers/BIOS version, get everything bang up to date and then see how bad the problem is then. I don't know much about adjuting timings and voltages - I leave everything at default so that when it goes bang it's not my fault xD

Firstly man, you are looking in the wrong directions, firstly crysis can not i repeat can not be run smoothly at very high, very is no current hard ware that will run crysis smoothly no not even ea has that shit.They made a game for next years hardware retarded really. Secondly vistas hardware scores are awful and do not work. Thirdly nothing needs 8gbs of ram lol waste of money if you ask me.

I know that but at least its kinda giving me an indication that something isnt configured right since it isnt totally maxed out in every area with my setup.

Aparently you've never used a program like ZBrush. LOL. The more RAM you can feed the program the happier it is. With high poly mesh editing, Ive been at a point where Im using almost 4 gigs of resources in that program alone not to mention what Vista is sucking up. Granted thats while editing a mesh thats over 12 million polygons.

My RAM is DDR2 800mhz, and Im pretty sure its still set at that factory default setting. So in that case, if I set my FSB at 400mhz, what do I want my multiplier set at? Doesnt that ultimately determine what my processor speed will be?

no no no, just the fsb, even if it´s with the cpu settings, it determines memory speed, the rest you leave it as factory, worst case scenario, you don´t get an image and it looks all fucked up, but DONT PANIC; just unplug the power cable for 20 seconds, boot again and go back into bios and restore to previous settings : )
