this post are for all those that may not totaly get what this mod is about...

there are 3 main parts that goes into the idea of cyberpunk.

first is the idea that tech gives normal people that have the cash the ability to become smarter, faster, stronger and so on. be that by lab grown tissue, electronics or gene therapy...

the other is the thought that the world have become a corporate playground. the corps buys the laws, pollute the land and basicly gives a shit about anything but the monthly earnings. they will pull black ops jobs at the competision to slow them down, they will put out illegal/untested drugs into circulation to test theyre effect, they will shoot you on the spot and dump you into the waste burner if they catch you on theyre property. basicly you have no voice...

the third and final one is the idea of cyberspace, the full sensory vr. its the internet x 1000000. most users see it like we do today, but the powerusers are people that hook theyre head into a specialy designed computer that enables them to "live" on the net. think about the speed and control you can get when you only have to think the command to do it, to just reach out and grab a file to copy it, read it and so on. ok, the corps own cyberspace (heavy drm backed up by equaly heavy laws) but there are still "hackers/crackers" that can be ghosts of the net. now this part do not have a pressence in public enemy yet but i think they are working on it (and man i hope it will be good)...

i hope this is a help for any future ideas. and like i think i said, this is my take on the conspet of cyberpunk. feel free to correct or add to it

I believe that the concept of cyberpunk is quite broad. Personally I'd say that the cyberpunk world is a high technological (technocracy) with large differences between the rich and the poor and not a whole lot of civil rights for the public. Not necessarily corporate authority but it could also be totalitarian state authority (imagine "1984" hundred years later).
