Hi
First of all: Love your mod. Especially the gameplay rules. Some more enhancements and you'll beat all others.

About bots:
There are only few HL-mods that have built-in bots (ahl used to have some..). As a matter of fact, this doesn't mean there are no bots for HL- mods. It's possible to "catch" and modify dll messages, resulting in a new dll, which will allow servers to add bots to a game (serverside only, that is) .I used to be the author of a bot (Bocbot) until I had to cancel development because i ran out of time (final exams) - so if anyone is willing to put some effort into making a PE bot, I'll be glad to help out with code snippets and/or tips.

Did you guys plan to code a built-in bot ?

yeah. i know CS has bots, but i'm talking about bots that are actually integrated into the game (withOUT having to download/install 3rd party software). so u can start a LAN or a public server, add how many bots u want in the config files or just in the advanced options (if playing on a LAN), and there ya go. insta-bots. wink.gif

Great to hear that bots willbe incorprated nest release. I havent tried Vampire Slayer yet but it looks pretty cool. Actually my fave bots for a Halflife mod are the oddbots for FrontlineForce. They actually follow the fairly complex rules (complex for bots anyway..) and play as teams.

Looking foward to next release biggrin.gif

wow! After posting my 2nd post I realized that chALLn(ger) had replied to my topic. The BoCbot ( Brain of Combat, if I remember right) was pretty good back when DoD was still young, maybe even beta. I bet I still have a copy of what I felt was a pretty good bot. The 2 major things that make a bot good and not just something that subsitutes constant headshots for AI is the ability to go anywhere on the maps that you might go. This calls for above average waypointing. the second is the ability to deal with mod-specific tasks. This could be pretty hard depending on the mod.

P.S. chALLn(ger): Plz bring back the BoC. ph34r.gif

Previously called "Zneaker" ,hehe.
Well...as i wrote above, I'll be pleased to help out if anyone wants to start making a PE bot. I myself have cancelled developing the Bocbot a few months ago, since i was (and I still am) studying for my final exams (called "Abitur" here) - as a matter of fact, I'll have one on Monday.... and besides that I'm currently coding some commercial programs (who doesn t need money ?). Maybe I'll be working on the Bocbot as soon as I've finished school (in a couple of months) ,since i'll have a lot of free-time until my time on university starts.
If noone has made a PE bot until then, I'll add support for this mod. (still don't know, if the PE-team thinks about programming a built-in bot, though)
