Played a little a few days ago (fallout 2) awesome game. Haven't played in a long time. If you don't like these games, you're basically a fag. If you have never played these games, play them now. If you are too young to play these games, then I will laugh.

While he is blunt, bacon speaks the truth. The Fallout games are what is commonly referred to as 'the shit'.

BTW Sydney's awesome biggrin.gif

I have to say...I didn't like fallout 1 or 2. Don't kill me just yet please.

The problem for me was that I found no tutorials whatsoever to the game, had to do it on a try and fail basis. Which I really don't like. And since I tried it this year, the graphics was bleedingly awfully bad. And I like real-time rpg better than round based, sorry.

But I do think Fallout 3 will be awesome. After all now it's in 3d. woot.

I've never played any Fallout games - I prefer first person shooters myself.
Call of Duty 4 for the win! tongue.gif Makes me wanna grab a ghillie suit and a rifle and a couple of gallons of water and lie on a mountainside for days tongue.gif

Fallout brings it back to the days when you actually have to think.
Also, to not play a game because of its graphics is kind of dumb. I mean, RA 2 still kicks ass and its graphics are horrid. Its kind of like saying Mario is a shitty game because its graphics are old.

Also, the controls are quite easy. If that's all the help you needed, then just ask here...

Also, here's a test to check if you're a moron:

1. When you see this thread, you go to google and go into the image browser and type in 'fallout'.

2. You realize the graphics dont look that great and as such, you stop there.

Thing is, many people prefer the "immersion" (in quotes since the definition depends on the person) 3D type games offer over anything else not 3D. I understand where they're coming from. I play any type of game if I like it, regardless of graphics, but in a world where 3D is common, that's what someone would usually go for first.

I haven't played it, but it does look interesting. When I get a chance I'll buy it... but right now I'm anticipating Dead Rising's arrival for the Wii. laugh.gif

I don't think its even in stores anymore, and play fallout 1 or two, they both have the same graphics. Also, it really doesn't matter on the graphics on this one. You can do literally almost anything in the game. (You can get a car, you can get any type of weapon that cost money, you can travel to different cities/towns/villages, kill dudes, (turn based but you can aim and shit), you can get sidekick npcs, you can get armour, ammo, steal shit, pick locks, and the story is amazing. You can also customize your character from the beginning, get level ups throughout the game with experience, do quests, and eventually become so powerful that you can pretty much wipe out anyone. Also, you can do shit like shoot people's arms off, blow them apart, etc. I tossed a nade at some chick and half her body blew off. Then you can loot their remains when you're not in combat mode.)

When it comes to truly awesome games, graphics really don't matter. Trust me.
(You get very addicted to this game very fast as long as you don't run from the graphics).

Graphics do matter, trust me wink.gif

Some games are brilliant in spite of bad graphics, but graphics are an important part of most "full" or "hardcore" games. You only have to look at games like Call of Duty 4 or Crysis and be amazed at the sheer immersion factor - it's hard to get "immersed" in Mario because it's a casual game, like most older games that could not rely on immersion tongue.gif

It's the difference between the PC and the Wii - very very different platforms and very different game styles...

I like detailed games for the technical aspect of it - marvelling at how somebody made that face seem real smile.gif It's cool I think - it's only maths after all.

Graphics are a mere bonus to a game. I mean, half-life is, in my opinion, the greatest game ever made, and the graphics are very dated now.

(my opinion on half-life) (offtopic) I never liked half-life, except for its modding capabilities

Other than the fact that you can mod it and make it something totally different, I never liked it.
