Here are my specs:
Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT PNY 512mb GDDR3 2GB of RAM (I think it's only DDR) Dual core 2.0 GHZ AMD processor. 939 socket. Windows Vista 64bit I want to play games with better FPS, now my gcard is pretty new so i don't think i'll replace that but what is more important for games such as WoW where in main cities i get really reduced FPS. I have some money would like to know whats most important to buy in order to get a smoother playing WoW and more games obviousley. -------------------- ![]() Lightsaver the energy efficient Lightsabre |

the only thing I can think of is that you may need more ram. I am playing on
3.2 Ghrz Hyper Threading (old school before dual core, which is funny because windows still recognizes it as dual core XD) 3 gig ram Radeon X1650 And I get no lag. It also could be other programs you are running in the background, or the lag could be server side. -------------------- ![]()

for starters, with a system like that, if you´re intending to get the most out of games, you shouldn´t be on vista, let alone 64, as you´re using valuable system resources.
Since you´re already on right mobo sockets, i would look for the AMD AM2 X2 6000+ (DO NOT GET THE 6400), and also i doubt you have DDR memory, it has to be DDR2, however it´s provably low rating like 533, so, ram is dirt chip now, you can 4gigs of Kingston Value Ram DDR2 800 for 90€, even cheaper (get it in 2x 2gb sticks) and no don´t mix and match with your current ram, or you wont get propper dual channel. Graphics card is no ultimate piece of kit, but it will keep you going for next year or 2. Hopefully this helps : ) This post has been edited by Luciel on January 30, 2009 01:35 pm |

I think I will purchase the Athlon 6000+, I know it comes in 939 socket which is good. 1 thing; does it come with it's own heatsink and thermal compound if you buy online?

I agree with Luciel and Mallic. All you need is a serious upgrade on the CPU and another 2 gigs of RAM. That should do the trick. EDIT: Also, disable Vista Aero. It's a useless feature that just eats up even MORE system resources than Vista does by itself. This post has been edited by Security Corporate on February 01, 2009 06:46 am |

I´m 85% sure that amd always comes with heatsink which already has thermal paste.
I have a 6000+ in the shop i could sell you, if postage isn´t to expensive. This post has been edited by Luciel on February 02, 2009 11:58 am |
