I know a lot of mods are moving to the new Source Engine now. Eventually during the point at which Brain Bread mod will. With the source engine, you could have driveable vehicles. For example, in Dawn of the Dead, they drove barricaded Buss/Shuttles. Could BB incorporate something similar to that?

Would that really fit within the theme of BrainBread? It also could possibly cause problems if you park on top of a zombie or player spawn. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of vehicles, but after dealing with them in early versions of CS, I usually don't like any combination of HL(1 or 2)/mod + vehicles.

U can't compare Source Vehicles with HL1 vehicles!
I would like to over-drive these Bastards with a nice BMW X5 or a Motocycle like the Harley VRod, ![]() -------------------- ![]() ![]() AttentionFunny Stuff u got to check out (much in german)!Attention (\_/) (O.o) (> <) This is Bunny. What I'm saying is: HL1 or HL2 vehicles; you're going to still have the problem of little tards running over their teammates with the vehicles, also you'll run into other problems that plague games like BF1942 where you have the loud and TK-prone players who feel that they NEED to be the one behind the wheel.
I like the fact that brainbread doesnt have vehicles because: a. You dont have to worry about other players running you over (on purpose or not) b. It isnt a handicap to be the one whos not behind the wheel or at least in the vehicle. c. When you include something like vehicles where not every player can drive/use you almost always run into the problems where people will TK to get a vehicle, spam the text chat, or spam the mic with less than desirable things like insane amounts of profanity. d. If you make the player overly mobile (able to run over zombies with little to no consequences or overall risk to the player) you lose the whole horror flick atmosphere to the game. e. It might not fit well into the whole theme of brainbread if you couldve simply driven out of the town to avoid the zombies. ![]() But thats just my opinion, I could be wrong. ![]() -------------------- Still mapping away!! |

He does have a point. Vehicles might be something nice to have. But most of the maps aren't wide enough to have vehicles. If vehicles were used a fork condition would also have to be used: Vehicle perimeter to Spawn Perimeter... It would have to reloacate the spawn. CS Vehicles... they're possibly alright. They kind of controll oddly compared to halo vehicles. But if some brainbread areas were large enough then possibly. Also people would exploit the vehicles. They would run over their teammates. They would always go for the vehicles instead of gun to ground battle. And very soon all the vehicles would be used because everyone would just rush towards them and claim them. And then the players stuck without vehicles would be at a disadvantage. The trucks would have to have damage and fuel capabilities. Like if alot of zombies attack your truck... and your truck recieves so much damage, it'll start on fire and then explode. (kind of like GTA 3?) The fact is that Vehicles for the most part wouldn't work with the gameplay and overall theme of brainbread. But they could be incorporated on large wider maps of somesort. But they would not be limitless in their performance. They can be destroyed by a stray zombie piercing the fuel tank. Or they can run out of gas. Think: The vehicles were probably abandoned by the people fleeing town. They aren't going to have a full tank. They might have turned while driving. So the truck might have crashed. And it's not in the best shape. ^ Those are pretty much the only conditions that vehicles could be in. Edit: Mods. Move this to Suggestions. -------------------- Ich werde dich toeten.

Ok,even a long-time member doesent read,BRAINBREAD is not moving to Source, because they plan to work on a comercial RPG for the Source engine, they say they would like to pursue a BB source, but they want to do their Comercial RPG first,BB was really just a Good-Bye to the Hl1 Engine, their is a VERy good chance it WILL not move to Source.

Vehicles wouldnt cause a problem to spawn points. Theres no problem there.
But BB wont be moving to the source engine for a long time yet, the devs can worry about vehicles and that later if they eventually do. -------------------- |

question for the community:
Simple yes or no: 1)No. 2)Yes. Would you, or would you not, like to have bb sourced? We can always dream. -------------------- This is what Ive said for the past couple months every time has requested source: BB source is highly unlikely because the mod team (Ironoak) has decided to use the crystal engine to create an rpg, although they have said there is a small chance of going to source but please, for the sake of all mankind, do not request a port and/or create polls, or even useless threads about the porting of BB, because it is most likely not going to happen, thank you for reading.
