Well, inspired by the previous thread with pictures of zombies and a fake news article, I thought I'd try my hand at faking some news articles about the zombies. I'll probably include some police reports, transcripts of conversations/video footage, etc eventually. But for now, heres a few choice articles from Heavensgate Post, before the zombie threat was fully realised.

Cannibals murder another!

Yet another partially consumed body was recovered from the St.Michaels River yesterday. Sources within the police department have informed us that, while a full autopsy has yet to be undertaken, from the wounding patterns the victim was attacked by at least four different assailants, the the highest number yet out of the killings. The victim is a woman in her late twenties, though further identifying features have been rendered unusable by the cannibal attack; even fingerprinting has proven impossible due to the wounds. Police are awaiting confirmation of identity via dental records.

The body was fished out of the river at seven o clock last night, after it was reported to the police by a local businessman, who wishes to remain anonymous. The police department has so far refused to make a statement about the severity of the victim's injuries or about any leads in the case. An anonymous source has informed us the extent of the attack; the body is most definitely another cannibal killing, as large portions of flesh and meat appear to have been torn from the body. More disturbingly, these wounds seem to have been inflicted by nothing more than the killer's teeth. All of the fingers on both hands, and a sizeable chunk of the right fore-arm have been completely dismembered from the body. Aside from the heavy amount of injuries typical of the cannibal killings, the body has also been partially decapitated - our source theorised that the corpse was damaged in the river, as this injury seems to have been inflicted by a sharp impact at high speeds with a solid object.

The location at which the victim was murdered before being pushed into the river has been difficult to pinpoint; the body could have entered the river at any point throughout the city centre. Police are asking citizens to report any suspicous activity around the riverfront immediately.

This is the fifth body to be recovered in the last week, and all of the recoveries have had disturbing similarities; all of them have been partially devoured, and all of them have suffered severe injuries to the head. This last aspect has puzzled the police task force assigned to the case, as all reports indicate that the cranial damage appears to have been inflicted almost accidentally - in contrast with the horrifing purposeness of the cannibalism aspect. So far the authorities have had no luck in finding suspects, or any leads in the case. Theories as to the killer's identity have been put forward by the detectives in charge, and, with the seemingly rising number of assailants involved in every kill, they have stated that they believe these murders to be the act of a cult.

Citizens are advised to be on their guard at all times, and to stay within their homes whenever possible until the killer has been brought to justice.

The murder was not the only tragic act of violence that occurred last night; over three dozen people were admitted to St.Gabriels hospital following seemingly random acts of violence. Most patients appear to have been injured only superficially, though solid information has been hard to come by. One source told us that the people who were admitted to the hospital appeared to have suffered bite injuries, a disturbing link to the cannibal murders. The suddenly overworked police department has stated that it believes the two cases are linked, and believes that the attacks were failed murders from the same killers.

Two of the patients have been on the critical list since their admittance at twelve midnight, and show no signs of recovery. Another patient has been added to the critical list after contracting a serious infection, within under three hours of his admittance. According to one of the patients, most of the people who came to the hospital had been attacked by assailants who varied wildly in appearance but apparently seemed to suffer from some sort of psychopathic dementia - one patient says that the attackers seemed to move awkwardly, and appeared deathly sick.

A man believed to be one of the mysterious attackers was shot dead outside a local diner, when the owner of the establishment rang the police about an apparent transient trying to attack his customers. A squad car was sent out immediately, and upon their arrival they were attacked by the ill-kempt man. In the following scuffle Officer Jantson and Officer Allins decided that lethal force was the only deterrent available. They claim to have hit the transient over five times with their gunfire without appearing to hurt him. The officers, and all spectators to the scene, insist that the man did not fall down until Officer Jantson stepped forward and shot him in the head at point-blank range.

Officer's Jantson and Allins are currently under review by the internal affairs department, for unlawful use of deadly force. The attacker has been identified as Peter Najaon, a respected local businessman, reported missing last week. So far there has been no information as to his link with the other murders, beyond the peculiar and disturbing dementia which afflicted him.

Over 200 missing feared dead

The number of reported missing persons in Heavensgate rose to a startling two hundred figure yesterday. Over twenty people were added to the count after concerned family and friends contacted the police department, bringing the worryingly increasing number to the highest in the citys history. The number of missing individuals has been on a dramatic rise since the start of the cannibal killings; in only two days since the first body was found in Paradise Park, the number has increased exponentially.

Police state that they are concerned about the missing, but assure family and friends that it is extremely unlikely that they have been victims of any malicious deeds, and that the cannibal killers especially are not a concern. According to Chief Brownston, These sick, twisted individuals cannot be responsible for the rising number of missing persons. These people have gone missing from places all around the city, and we do not believe these attackers have the man power to kidnap so many individuals. We realise the concerns of the citizenry, however, and a full scale man-hunt will be undertaken as soon as more evidence is gathered.

I especially like the lack of information impregnated into the magazine articles

There will be a follow up paper with headline "Daytime murder in Downtown!", and a smaller article questioning why the police have been so reluctant to release information regarding the attacker killed yesterday, asking them to confirm or deny allegations that the autopsy indicates the attacker died way before he was shot.

But I just updated my story, so I'm leaving it for now.

Yes I'm doing more, and I'll add some pics if I summon up the energy to do so. If theres pics then they'll probably be lifted from comic books though, so don't expect actual photos.

Mysterious Illness claims another

Another of the victims admitted to St. Gabriels hospital has died, and several more have been placed on the critical list. At half one this morning, Mrs Ellen Poenne died of a mysterious illness she contracted 24 hours ago, after being attacked by a transient in the crime wave that is sweeping the city. She was admitted to the hospital with a deep flesh wound, reportedly caused by a bite, and treated appropriately. She was kept overnight for observation, and during this time her condition worsened considerably, until finally she went into cardiac arrest and died.

Out of the victims admitted to the hospital, Mrs Poenne is the second to have died of her injuries; another patient who has yet to be identified died within hours of his admittance to the intensive care unit, of a large neck wound. Over 20 of the patients involved in the attacks have been placed on the critical list, suffering from the same anomalous disease as the deceased. Doctors are treating them with a range of antibiotics and antitoxins, unsure of how to procede with this new illness.

"We've never seen anything like it before. The injuries these people have sustained are fairly superficial for the most part, but the following onset of infection is amazingly rapid. Within a day Mrs Poenne's condition deteriorated, and all the treatments we gave her proved futile. We're very concerned about the patients on the critical list, and we feel confident that armed with the experience Mrs Poenne has given us in treating this virus, we will cure these people." says Dr Porthwaithe, head of medicine at St. Gabriels.

Doctor Porthwaithe has issued a statement asking all patients who were admitted and discharged after being attacked to contact the hospital immediately if they experience any of the following symptoms:

• Nausea
• Headaches
• Blurred vision or discomfort with bright lights
• Abnormally cold temperature
• Pallid skin
• Severe fatigue

Body Missing!

The body of the unidentified man who passed away last night at St. Gabriels hospital was being delivered to the police morgue last night, so that an autopsy could be performed to confirm whether this attack was carried out by the cannibal killers.

The van carrying the body was found this morning, deserted near the riverbank. The car appears to have stopped calmly at the edge of the road, as there are no signs of damage.

Worryingly, the driver, Police Officer Jonas Hiroldo, was not in the vehicle - and neither was the body of John Doe. There were no witnesses to whatever befell the transport, but Office Hiroldo appears to have discharged his sidearm three times at an unidentified attacker. The van is coated with blood, though there are no bodies within or near by - Police sources theorise that the cannibal murderers attacked the vehicle to use the body in an insane cultist ceremony, though official channels assure us that this is simply conjecture.

The body bag containing the corpse was found at the scene, torn open - apparently from the inside according to one source, though this claim has been refuted by the forensics department of the force.

Testing is being undertaken to confirm who the blood soaking the vehicle belongs to.

Wow, I have been waiting for this since last night, something on a virus claming people. Do you mind if I use a little tidbit of it for my story? I am not good at writing about the virus objectivly, which you seem good at.

Feel free
