Server Timeouts... - Shib, 2003-04-29 12:37
There's a bug in the Linux-Server-Version of Public Enemy which timeouts the server by every action like hacking or observing. We will remove this bug as soon as we can. The Windows-Server-Versions should run faultless.

We're very sorry for this mistake

Co-operation with Linux project - enemy, 2003-04-27 12:27
The developers of Jollix, a GNU/Linux distribution and the developers of Public Enemy announce their common co-operation. So it will be possible to play Public Enemy without installing Linux on the harddisk. By this co-operation both sides expect a larger success of their two projects.

Jollix linux [1] is an easy to use and completely free linux desktop distribution for x86, based on gentoo linux [2]. The purpose of the project is to develop and distribute an operating system for game and multimedia enthusiasts and normal Microsoft Windows(TM) users looking for an alternativ operating system. The first release, a LiveCD, serves to demonstrate the features of jollix without changing the running system on the harddisk. Jollix linux combines the simplicity and flexibility of the
K Desktop Environment, KDE, [3] with the Win32 and Win16 API implementation Wine [4]. So games like Half-Life and HL-Modifikations like Public Enemy can played with jollix though there is not an existing Linux version of the game. The current version 0.1 supports NVidia based graphic adapters with all 3D features (TNT to GeforceFX). Later versions will have an easy installer and support for ATI based cards.

The betatest of the beta 1.0 final are now finished and the release is approaching briefly. At this place we would like to thank all betatesters, fans and naturally also by all people who helped Public Enemy so far. Much thanks to you all!

Game magazines which like to write a preview about Public Enemy should write a Mail to Nils Recoilmaster Kochem (recoilmaster@ehg-clan.de), our responsible for News and Gameservers/Filehosters . The following data should be contained in the mail: Name, prename, nickname (if available), name of your game magazine, reason why you like to write a preview about Public Enemy. These will receive (probably) the Beta-Version one day before the official release takes its place. For general information or interview inquiries (only press) please contact Manuel Shib Schuepbach (schuepbachmanuel@gmx.ch).

Fans or interested people can log in in our IRC-Chat and place their questions there (IRC: Quakenet, Channel #penemy). On Tuesday the developers take themselves time for your questions - They have the work then behind theirselfs and perhaps theyre in such a good mood that they will publish the first link to yeah, I dont know ;)

Greetings from Switzerland
Shib

Cyberware - enemy, 2003-04-21 05:38
Yesterday evening the last but one playtest took his place. We didn't found any serious bugs and now the tommorow's day will show, whether we can publish the Beta 1.0 this week.
