meanwhile we have all the features mentioned in a stable version, the betatesters did some great work. We're working on gameplaytweaking right now. As for the maps: more might come if bb is played and madmax has already 2 other maps running so hopefully they will be finished someday smile.gif
I definately have to test ZP soon, sounds like some good fun

Argh! Stop comparing those two mods. They're different in most ways!

Zombiepanic ---> Funny multiplayer mod with human zombie players vs human players

Brainbread ---> Funny (small fundmod, just took 8 weeks) singleplayer/multiplayer mod focussed on coop mode (ok human zombie vs players is possible, too... but not the main focus)

@coldwar: It startet as a project that should have been finished withing one week for a lanparty, we told ourselves that it had to be a small funmod. but from a modelers point of view it isn't that small anymore and as far as I can tell from a coders point of view neither. It isn't a huge mod (1 map atm, but that one includes a big amount of work by madmax) I of course hope we're achieving the funfactor we wanted at that time.

@Mantrid: Ah... so you're a guy from the ZP-Developer team... i could understand your problem with BrainBread, but i think that it's rather cheap to flame us in your forums (PE sucks, BB sucks etc). We didn't flame you at all... i just posted that these mods are totally different in their goals/aims and that both have an individual fun factor.
Whatever.... stop flaming us; we don't need to either. That's not a good behavior for a developer.

Sorry madmax, I mixed him up with "maveric" who flamed about pe, bb and the ironoak team. He is a ZP dev :| Sorry for that mistake, i don't think Mandrid has anything to do with it

Edit: It looks like they thought ironoak did that review ph34r.gif I cleared that up in this topic: here

i tried playing zombie panic but it got kinda stupid like u guys have been talking about limited, ammo and other stuff also the crowbar if u try to kill a zombie with one then u are doomed becasue i tried and they just ate me all up lol. I have just registered on these fourms and when i look at the pictures i can tell this mod is going to be a winner!

But there are some flaws within this system. I like to have very limited ammo because it promotes team play but on some maps there is such less ammo and weapons you always running around with your pistol only having 7 bullets and thats just enough killing one zombie if you archive some headshots.
Thats why you use teamwork, so you can offer support to the people who do have big weapons.
The flaw isn't about teamwork, it's about too less ammo and weapons for too much players if you play for example on a 20 slot server. Its not fun running around the most rounds only with your start weapon.

Another problem is that everybody can pickup every type of ammo even if he never need it. That way valuable ammo gets horded and lost. Theres a key to drop ammo but its to difficult because you have to select the ammo type first and afterwards you can drop ammo.
I don't think pressing two buttons is very hard...
Too hard if you're in a combat situation. I think the ammo drop system is nearly useless as only very seldom someone drops ammo he picked up for another weapon.

It may be a better system if you can only pickup useable ammo and assign the drop ammo key so it just drops ammo of the selected weapon.
Yeah, except that completely prevents ammo runs, which are an important part of Zombie Panic. Again, teamwork.
Maybe the devs should include a better system to promote teamplay . Currently there's no real motivation for it and as usual in pubs it ends in single rambo'ing.

So what are the differences?
The main difference is that Zombie Panic has a more competition outfit like Vampire Slayer. So in Zombie Panic you have a limited amount of different weapons you have to master to maximize your surviving chance while Brain Bread has a more fun outfit with 18 (?) weapons to play with.
More weapons != more fun. Each weapon in ZP is there for a reason, and there are no redundancies. Pistol is for self defense. Magnum is for long-range headshots. Shotgun is for close-combat. Rifle is for subduing a large group of enemies. Grenade is for clearing an area. Satchel is for setting up a defense or as a last measure.
That's what i said. A competitive outfit with limited weapons you have to master. I dont said that a competitive outfit is wrong or i dont like it. Hell i like competitive outfit games.
Another plus for Brain Bread is that there are better and more player models and a much better map quality with the downside that theres currently only one map but we all know good maps take time.
So... higher map quality, on one map...
Based on the current information it looks also Brain Bread can deliver a much more varying game play with more weapons, AI controlled zombies and AI controlled friendly soldiers, policemen, a tank and a helicopter. Also Brain Bread has some kind of experience system to earn new skills and weapons (?) and it looks like there are mission driven maps like Sven Coop.

Ok .. based on my current information (i play BB since 2 weeks) ... imho BB has a much more varying game play then ZP ... but as usual it's a question of taste wink.gif

And at least ... the "review" stated only my current expression of my playing experience of 1 week or so. Others may have other opinions wink.gif.

In my opinion, BB is by far, far, far the superior game.

ZP wanted to capitalise on Halloween by releasing an open beta very early, which showed everyone a horribly limited, basic version of the game.

In it's first stages brainbread was far better than that, and now it's.. unbelievably better.

Perhaps ZP will do great things someday, but it will be in the future, on the source engine. Brainbread, right now, as a HL project, beats it hands down in every single way.
