Since I got griped at for posting this in the main thread, I'm posting it in a new one.
idea 1.) .38
Sure, every big mod has a .357 or a .44. But the perfect budget zombie killer is a .38 snubnose (or one with a 4" barrel for those who want more accuracy). The gun is cheap, the ammo is plentiful and cheap, who would want to spend $1300 on a gun just to kill zombies?($1300 is around the actual price of the desert eagle). .38 snubnoses are around $200. And it'll give it that From Dusk till Dawn feel. .38's rule. Maybe be able to have dual .38s? That would rule. Perhaps make it the starter pistol, start out with a axe and a .38. .38 is a decent security guard gun(if they were armed). Also a good concealed carry gun, so it would fit right in.
idea 2.) Upgrade the Desert Eagle to a .44 if you're going to keep it.
The desert eagle .357 is 9 rounds, the .44 is 8 rounds, the .50 AE is 7.
Everyone has the .50 AE or the .357. No mod I have seen has the .44 desert eagle.
Edit: Sure the mod has something new(co-op zombies) But having the same weapons as every other game is boring and un-inventive. Oh yah, I might remember one or two games that EVER used the .44 Desert Eagle. ph34r.gif

Why not a little bit of both? Gun talk fits in everywhere.

Could be taking a wizz with a guy next to you also taking a wizz, and be like "Hey, did you hear that Springfield Armory is making a new 1911?"

Well, considering I made it around 30 minutes ago, I don't expect 200 posts by now.

There are plans to replace one of the current pistols with a revolver.

I personally would support the .38 idea because it's a rather unusual weapon for a mod. Normally in mods you get a standard selection of 9mm and .45 semi automatic side arms like berettas and colts and an occasional desert eagle or barracuda thrown into the mix to keep the "I don't care about balance just gimme the biggest gun available"-faction happy. Also I think the .38 was the standard sidearm of the american police force which makes it very likely to be found in a survivor situation as in BB.

The cost of a weapon is rather unimportant to BB: If you're hunted by a hungry mob of zombies and happen to come across a weapon shop you won't settle for the cheap guns thinking "Oh, no! I can't afford this! This is half my years salary at Zombie King!".
The current selection of weapons is caused by converting them from PE to BB, I guess they'll replace many over time if the mod is a success.

Well, the cost thing was more like, if you're a security guard, you won't be making $50k a year. After house payments, car insurance, car payments, and so forth. You probably wouldn't have the 1300 needed (in bank and on hand) to get a desert eagle, not to mention the pricey ammo. And ya, the .38 was the old police issue revolver, was also the old military issue revolver long long ago. And if the player was given it at spawn instead of just an axe, they'll stand a better chance against zombies charging their spawn zone (ai and player) ph34r.gif

Well, as it is right now, you start with only the axe but there are plenty of guns in your vicinity. IMO the .38 is still a good candidate for replacing one of the other guns.

And in my experience people that work in jobs such as security guard are often the same people that buy those big guns... tongue.gif

Probably my first suggestion post for anything that I got people to agree with me on. I really do hope they put a .38 in this mod though. I would absolutely LOVE this mod if they did.

the .38 is a good idea but if it is added for god sakes don't use moon and half moon clips. rather have people reload them one at a time to make it more difficult to use. another hting is if weapons were scarce the security gaurds should start out with one since that would be realistic.

Anyone in a zombie situation would use speedloaders for revolvers, they wouldn't reload 1 round at a time, that's just stupid.

I think a .38 smith and wesson revolver would be a nice addition, But I don't really want to feed this thread because I think it's main purpose of creation was for the topic starter to impress us with his knowledge about firearms.

I traded in my guns years ago, I realised I have a penis, thankyou.

I have the .38 snub nose my father purchased for protection back in the 50's and that gun isn't gonna do much for the size of your dick trust me. As for using speedloaders why the hell isn't anyone thinking. YOU ARE NOT IN THE BLOODY MILITARY. For god sakes your supposed to be survivors not crack troops. It doesn't make much sense that survivors would think to have speed loaders. Hell it doesn't make sense that they start with anything at all.

Skip the .38 snub-nose revolver.

Go for something with class. Same calibre, same idea (compact security and police firearm), but make it something noteworthy.

The Compact Off-duty Police .357/.38 4-barrel Derringer
