what is a potato gun? not a vegetable-shooter i hope... Potatoes really cant hurt can they?

well... homemade bomb? nice. Not everyone has their share of m82 frag at home.....
Molotov? -Bring it on!
Land mines? Just a tad too big?
Springfield? we really need more guns people might have at home. Springfield, a hunting shotgun, an old colt, not tavors....
And this is getting a bit "hey flame echelon" style. Because he suggests a weapon I personally don't like that much, we shouldn't criticize that much.

Yes it is a vegetable and they are actually quite dangerous.....Depending on how you make it....They can go through windows and if you shot someone in the head it would probably give them a concusion if not kill them. and you could always replace the potato with a rock or somethign...

usually 2,5m long. mine was ca 1m
is based on some chemicals like hairspray and such. u need a big tank for that.
mine had 4 small barrels, nothing for potatos but cigerrets fit very well ^^ (every barrel 1)
it shot around 50m i guess. nothing great cause i just made it for fun with a friend and not to have something to defend against zombies ^^
my paintballmarker hurts much more ^^. if u want one for bb, u schould look for screens at google, there you can find real ones.

i still got some photos of mine.but i wont upload them now.maybe tomorrow. noone would moddel that stupid crappy thing anyway... Zombies would lough at you ph34r.gif

A homemade bomb would be nice.
The survivors probably wouldn't have full access to military weapons, and alot of their arsenal would be composed of home made weapons at first.

A nail guns makes perfect sense.

I would like to see a lotta more weapons in BB but a specific weaponset for each map...(3 or so standardguns, the rest map-specific)

Yeh.
There could be weaponsets.

Each map could have their own weaponsets....
Or even better.

In the BB 1.3 you could pick what weapon set you want, by picking it in options in the dedicated server menu.

The idea with the weapon sets to a map could be that:
The maps take place in dif. environments. Differen't weapons would/wouldn't be available.

Like say there's a gunstore.
There could be more weapons and things.

Say it's in a suburban town.
There would be alot of home based weapons.

Just a thought.

or maybe, instead of the springfield (1903 vintage, probably not a lot of working ones left), the Remington 710, a simple, lightweight, fairly common hunting rifle. Bolt action. 5 round clip (the 10 round clip on the Stoner makes me ignore the 6 round, 2-at a time reload, magnum, although it looks cooler, the pragmatist will choose the auto-sniper).

Ok, instead of the potato gun, how about a compressed-air nailgun pack (with compressed air tanks in a backpack or something) to occupy the melee weapons slot. Wouldnt shoot much farther than 3 feet, but some nailguns can shoot big nails and these would pwn zombies.

Land mines are, if anything, too SMALL for use against zombie mobs. Perhaps the claymore mines if you are near a surplus store or something.

Hey, I'm just thinking of all the improvisable weapons for use against zombies. Even some strong cables strung across an alley at ankle level would trip up zombies. Come on. They are freakin zombies.

Instead of hairspray, what about those natural gas containers? That way, you'd only have to worry about picking up rocks and stuff scattered around the map than running out of hairspray (or whatever your ammo would be limited by in-game).

I'm still surprised no one puts in battery-powered saws in for the melee weapons. tongue.gif

Or that you could when starting a map, you could in a menu choose between home-made and weapons found at home, and that you could pick up the military ones in the map.

Yes.

But that option would have to be up to the person who makes the server. People shouldn't be having different weaponsets.

That way they could be exploited...
Like say the homemade version of the sniper does more damage ...
They could just get on and off the server when they wanted to...

And since servers save XP for 24 hours by default (and some for Infinite hours) they could keep their xp and everything if that weaponset wasn't working for them.

Once it's picked; it's done.
That's why it should only be accessible to a server admin with RCON commands or through the dedicated server config tab which currently has no options.

If this was made Zombie Death Conditions and Weapon Sets could be picked.

New .cfg files could be placed (or edited) to rely on the information put out by the dedicated server menu, instead of the other way around. It could keep game stats and other stuff.

(like CS)

I were thinnking that homemades\ at home guns should be the only ones in menu, but server maker choosing "military" or "civillian" sets could be cool.
Also some maps could have forced civ or army sets.

Thats great with forums. Ideas merge, grow, multiply and within moments the modders shake their heads about all the mad stuff people want.

A chainsaw?
That should probably be a one hit kill.
But it runs the risk of being hit by the zombie.

The length of attack should be greater for the chainsaw only for a few inches... so if you attack at a bad angle, you're zombie flesh.

What about golf clubs? Or a shovel? Or a severed zombie leg? tongue.gif

I know, what about a 1-hit kills ashtray? Like the one in Shaun of the Dead. biggrin.gif
