shooting range sucks, stronghold sucks, sin city sucks, almost every single custom map for bb sucks. in fact the only one that doesnt suck that ive seen is birdland (and it actually used a model, OMGZ!).

Jeez, the new maps are good.
Nighthouse is interesting enough - when you lose control of the bottom floor it becomes exactly like I imagine Night Of the living dead. Both cemetry maps are good (especially the church one, I like how things get harder and harder as it progresses) even though the one in an actual cemetary is kinda hard to navigate. Mecklenburg is the 2nd best town/city based map - you can go into the police station and everything! Sin City is a little slow and easy to avoid the zombies (lotsa room) but I like how you have to go to specific points to grab weaponry you dont just start next to an armory. Birdland is prob the best but alot of people just stand where the zombies cant reach them and shoot which isnt very interesting in my opinion...at least not when you do it ALL the way through the round. Nightclub is prob the weakest map but still its novel enough. Frankly I prefer all of the unofficial maps to any of the sci-fi ones (the sci fi setting really doesnt gel well....) and definitely over Slaywatch. If slaywatch had say a gunshop where you needed to get ur ammo from, and got harder as it progressed (like church map) then it would be excellent, but as it is I much prefer maps where the players have to run out through infested streets/areas to complete the objectives; not just stand shoot and then run about 20 meters to grab the case before coming back. Wow, got to love people making uninformed statements, stronghold used a pair of zombie models (not bb_spawn_zombie entities) for the two of the tanks down in the nazi lab. dotd_mall_final bb_deadcity bb_bunkeralpha2 de_breakdown bb_termoil bb_prisonbeta2 bb_InfestedFacility2 bb_nighthouse bb_cemeterytrouble bb_cemetery bb_bayou_beta2 I think all of these are good quality maps and they all have missions except deadcity. Surely at least one will be to your liking -------------------- Twenty years in the making...

the only custom map i like has to be bb_birdland that is ace still could do with improvements all custom mpas i have played are poor most of em are just mpas with advantages for humans like all weapons on a tower wiht zombies at bottom

sure they might be fun. i was talking about looks. when i download a custom map im not going to download one that looks like shit and at the author says "its fun!!!!" or any map that falls under the terrible category of funmap.

Well then blender I guess you're screwed as far as custom maps go. It takes effort to make one and then double that to bother texturing it all effectively. So.......tough shit basically.

I love funmaps. I usualy get behind the looks after 5 minutes of playing, so this is not a problem for me. Heck, BB itself is more of a funproject

I like pretty much all of the custom maps out there.... Even yours immoral.
The maps that I dont really like are the ones that take 2 min. to make..... "000" "targetpractice" etc........................... The big maps that take mappers a long to make... such as immoral's stronghold, cannot possibly considered bad. The only problems with his map in particular is some of the texturing sux and the sky-box blows... Other than that, it gives every type of terrain to fight in (open/tight, indoor/outdoor) and plenty of versitality. As for the "official" maps They are pretty kick ass... But they do get very old, very quick... They all look the same and all have equal lighting all through them. |

Dont forget tweaking the lighting, that can take a long time to do as well. But yeah, getting the textures just right in a map can be very difficult. -------------------- Still mapping away!! |

I'm making a new map, bd_warehouse.
It's an army warehouse, with trains and ware house mazes and it's very dark with SOME flashing lights. And you have to find your weapons *hint train* Me and chubbieboi are also going todo a model Pack together, so it'll probally use them models. It's around, 30% finished. -------------------- ![]() |

Best said tbh -------------------- This is what Ive said for the past couple months every time has requested source: BB source is highly unlikely because the mod team (Ironoak) has decided to use the crystal engine to create an rpg, although they have said there is a small chance of going to source but please, for the sake of all mankind, do not request a port and/or create polls, or even useless threads about the porting of BB, because it is most likely not going to happen, thank you for reading.
