Hes right about weapon bitching though but cs is getting kinda boring though, you do the same damn missions over and over again i got tired of it so i went here, this is a pretty descent game for a mod wouldnt anybody agree?

Counter-strike is in no way realistic beyond the appearance, if even that. In real life you cant sprint around an area with 7 bullets lodged in you taking you down to the equivalent of 1% health (let alone aim a gun with nearly 100% accuracy). In real life you dont have the time to take bullets out of partially spent clips and place them in new ones, let alone can anyone really do such a thing as quickly as is the reload sequence in CS. Dont forget about aiming the AWP or any other scoped rifle while running, thats not very realistic either.

That and would anyone be able to run around with a riot shield that looks as though it were ripped off of a tank?

I liked CS more back when it was based more around pure gameplay with a realistic appearance. Who cares if you can run around with a minigun in RL, or if anyone would really carry around a propane tank and use it as a weapon against zombies, if the mod is fun, thats all that really counts. wink.gif

lol, I checked out the minigun, it's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. LOTS OF AMMO. Tried it out on difficulty level 7; there a berretta would kill a zombie with two shots to the head. While the minigun doesn't completely tear the zombie apart, it does it very fast and does crowd control much better. I'd say keeping damage amounts similar is a good thing since that prevents any one person from completely cornering the fresh kills market :P

Plus it happens to be (to the best of my knowledge) the best looking minigun in any mod (usually they reuse the TFC one; like Sven and They Hunger).

So true.

Counter-strike is realistic in the fact that it pays attention to the weapons and such... but Is not realistic in the fact that you can jump and do stuff infinately...

The most realistic game out is probably America's Army.
No question.


But Brainbread is a ZOMBIE shooter. Zombie to begin with. I don't quite think that has any signifigance as far as realism.

And the fact is realism doesn't make a good game always. People want to play what is fun. Counter-Strike is a good mix of the two and America's Army does a superb job in that.

I do agree that realizing the ENTIRE weapon set would be nice. But that would alter brainbread's gameplay entirely. And take it away from what it is...

(But I have noticed that if you have skill even the crapiest weapons can be really good...)

Brainbread I think has turned into an accuracy and rate of fire game. :\

I think this is also a lot of psychological stuff to it. It's a funmod(not necessarily a fun mod, mind you[for some]), so stuff concerning realism is twisted here and there. Though personally, if it has to be such, I seem to mind the useage of actual weapon names. I have this personal quirk to rather have the weapons given fictional names as well(like Vampire Bloodlines). The only thing kept closest to reality is the models. For instance, it's really a shame to call a 300-400rpm firing weapon an M16, for me. Oh well.

Since everything is all meant to be "surreal"(like having 30 rounds in a 20-round M16 magazine); developer-customized for that matter, I guess I won't complain too much. tongue.gif

Oh by the way, CS isn't too realistic weapon-wise. Half-Life 1 has an engine RPM limit of around... say 500rpm. Maybe as far as 600 or 700 for the maximum. I don't think any mod that doesn't utilize any special "add-on" whatsoever can achieve any higher fire rate. Just check out the various weapons' RPM; the M249 is the obvious example. It's supposed to fire at around 750-1000rpm when it clearly fires at only 500-600rpm. That's just one bit.

And I wonder who's the doofus in the CS Team who made the AK-47 fire the 7.62x51mm NATO... might explain why it's highly accurate at first shots though(plus uncontrollable fire at sustain trigger pull)! Ha ha ha! biggrin.gif
