And it will deal damage or something? I dont really understand the point of picking up empty guns... Or is all this about being able to throw a gun away and then pick another up? if so, its possible... Dont remember if the button is assigned or not... if assigned, mine is "g". Try that, and tell me how it works.

If you throw an empty weapon away it dissappears forever, the devs did that to cut down on entities.

throwing empty weapons away for me disappear fine...
i think he means wen u throw a gun away, you should be able to go bk and pik the gun up again from the original weapon pik up coz i remember you cant pik the same weapon up again but perhaps that bugs been fixed...cant remember :S maybe... -------------------- ![]() |

That is a feature, not a bug. The devs intentionally made it so you can not pick up from the same weapon spawn twice in one life to prevent weapon camping and spamming. -------------------- BB Maps I've made...

i really hate that becuase when i want to use the gas tank to take out a bunch of zombies or get a minigun again after its ammo's depleted, i have to die in order to get it again, i dont see why they did that cause weapons right after someone picks them up, also i think weapon camping should be considerd allright as long as someone else gets that weapon your camping as well, also another it sucks is that if i have to pick up the case and throw a weap away, i have to die to get that weapon back. -------------------- |

People already get 500+ kills with suicide gas tanks, if players could continually pick up a weapon it could easily be pushed beyond 1000 with no deaths for the player.
Also, there would be much. much less use of the ammo box as people would grab a new weapon instead of waiting to restock and reload an old one. Not to mention it would make the game unbelievably easier if everyone could lob gastanks continually. In addition, players could crash servers with weapon spamming... -------------------- BB Maps I've made...

Hey all the weapons that are empty go away execpt the flame trower box and i kep picking it up so wtf??

understood. still, i think a new way needs to be figured out to balance- it sucks to be playing (FOR A LONG TIME) and you haven't died, but can't find a gun that you haven't had before, and you get killed. i don't have any suggestion yet how to accomplish this, except maybe: 1- weapons nostay; make weapons not respawn if a player is standing near them. 2- dmg/kill penalty if player is standing in 'base' areas, possibly can't get credit for consecutive kills while close to weapons, or make a custom area ent to define where the base is. i just think bottom line: if i pick up and drop every gun, i should not have to die before i can shoot something. i mean, let's get back to the game here, and this is a simulated zombie attack. the whole game plays really nice, transitioning from other mods, but without knowing it's intentional, it feels/plays like a really annoying bug. |

You don't have to drop the guns though, unless your to lazy to find an ammo box.
Your whole points rests on the fact that you throw away the weapon after it's empty, well I don't do that for the fact that I would be looking for a new weapon, I think it would be way to easy if you could pick up another of the same weapon after you discarded the last one because you were either to lazy, or not quite good enough to get to an ammo box. -------------------- |

Which is why you use ammoboxes instead of dropping and switching.
Note a chance, not a single chance at all. The people who love to annoy others can't wait for this so they can prevent over half the weapons in the spawn area from spawning.
We have enough problems with damage as is, so I doubt an area that reduces the damage you do is going to garner much support at all. And on the basis that this is a fun mod I am going to have to go against the prevention of kills. "Of no I was three inches inside the base line, I didn't get any kills!" Not to mention there are tons of places where players can camp anyways and if this were used on them too, it would become even more annoying than useful at all.
You should have to die if you picked up AND dropped every single weapon in the level. Besides, cases like those should be rare. The only time that ever is a problem for me is on slaywatch, because there is no ammobox.
