Idea, new one based on this! woot!

One mission, you have to kill zombies, find case and all that. But the last mission is to activate a radio, triggering a nuke incoming.
Map switch, to one where you have to run. Long, line map, lotsa zombies, maybe 5 minutes to get to the end smile.gif

Sort of like resident evil i guess, goverment has sent the bomber to blow the city up from the start, you've got to try your best to do the objectives and escape asap.

Here's what I did:

I tied a func_mortar_field to a func_button and that's all there is to this test map.

Using a multimanager you can probably get a much better effect by having the models of the jets fly over the players, then trigger the mortar field (or use the fader and a killbox).

But, with the mortar field, the person who triggers it seems to get all the kills. tongue.gif

um what about in one map at the end you hear the word of a nukeclear sdtrike.. so you must take about a small little thing to get to the fallout out shelter (picking up supplies on the way) and then you reach the shelter but OH Noes! Zombehs rush in and the blast door seals, you have to run through a long lonmg tunnel to the actual shelter (at a downward angle of course) untill you reach a room where there is a big screen with supplies and stuff and the Door closes with no zombies in it. Then on the screen you see the city exploding from a nuke. And you feel it and you screen goes white ...>>>>End map<<<<


And then another map where you have to explore the fucked up city

Yes, there are even a couple different ways to do this. There's an old HLDM map that has an airstrike in it as well. I think the name of the map was crossfire.

But, there's a button in the bunker that when pressed calls in an airstrike that kills everyone who isn't inside the bunker.

Though, for a larger map, this can get complicated.

yes its crossfire... that was a cool map, in source its all fuked up. almost all the time it goes white, and no one dies.

Just an idea off the top of my head, but here's one possible way to do it:

1. Have the last mission set to a custom mission.
2. Use a trigger relay(s) or a multimanager as a timer(s) (multimanger will probably work best).
*going to go the multimanager route from here on*
3. When the last mission starts, trigger the multimanager on activation of the mission. If a wave file is used, trigger this as well or via the multimanager.
4. For areas that are close to the escape zone, use killboxes for the surrounding area outside of the escape zone, elsewhere, func_explosions with really high explosion magnitudes will probably work. All of which should be triggered along with or after the models and sounds are triggered (jet flying by, etc.).
5. When the killboxes and explosions are triggered, trigger a env_fade and fade the screen to white as well as triggering a global ambient_generic for the explosion.
6. Before the env_fade ends, toggle the custom_mission entitiy (set to completed) and the map *should* end.

F-117 Nighthawk, or B2 Bomber would be kinda cool as well, but most approproate would ba an AC-10 Gunship

spectre gunships are not bombers but gun platforms. The b2 would be the only plane which could carrie a nuke to take out a city.

well seeing an AC-10 fly over would be pretty damn cool if you ask me, i had one fly over my house once at low altitude.
